Here are some of the questions we hear from our customers:
Q: Why should I buy custom instead of off-the-rack?
A: The main reasons people choose custom over off-the-rack are Fit, Style, and Selection. Maybe you want your clothing to fit a little trimmer, or maybe you prefer it a bit roomier. Almost everyone can get an improved fit with custom. And since we are styling your clothing the way you choose, you will get the features you want. Every shirt fabric we offer comes in 5 different collar styles, 5 different cuff styles, with or without a pocket, and monogrammed or not, depending on your preference. And with every suit cloth we have, you choose what kind of vent and pockets on the jacket, pleated pants or flat front, regardless of the styles the stores are carrying at the time. Your style, your fit, your way!
Q: What does “custom” mean?
A: Custom means we don’t have racks of suits or stacks of shirts sitting in our warehouse waiting for orders to fill. When you place your order, we roll out the fabric, make your pattern based upon your unique measurements, and get to sewing. We style your garments as specified by you. Custom means you get the fit, the style… the look you want.
Q: I’ve never measured myself for custom clothing or shirts before. How do I know I’ll do it right?
A: Don’t worry. Our step-by-step illustrations will help you get it right the first time. And if something goes wrong, we’ll make it right.
Q: How does the quality of your clothing compare to custom clothing sold elsewhere?
A: Our team has been in the custom clothing business for more than 50 years, and our factory produces clothing and shirts sold by custom clothiers all over the world, but usually at about twice the price or more. Seeing is believing, so give us a try and see for yourself!
Q: How long should a quality suit or shirt last?
A: It depends on several factors. Dry cleaning wears tailored wool clothing out faster than wearing it does, so you should dry clean your garment only when it really needs it, no more than three times per year for most folks. But frequency of wearing does make a difference. If you wear your suit once a week, you should expect it to look good for a couple of years. On the other hand, we recommend laundering your shirts each time they’re worn. Most shirt experts agree that 50 launderings is the life expectancy of a shirt.
Q: What if I don’t like my items after I get them?
A: We try very hard to get every order right the first time, but sometimes things don’t work out that way. If you are unhappy, we will work with you to make it right. We will remake your item or refund your money if we can’t make you happy. (See our return policy.)
Q: How long does it take to receive my order?
A: Our tailors and shirtmakers are extremely talented and efficient, so they can generally have your custom orders completed and shipped in about 3 weeks or less. Stock items such as ties, socks, and cufflinks ship within 2 business days of receipt of your order.
